I used to love that game...so when my daughter was younger, we got her this version:
We played that game a lot as a family--especially after my other came along. Now there's the card version. Connor (my son) and I were playing this game yesterday:
When it hit me----WHAT A GREAT math game (or color game, or shape game). I created a game with addition facts to ten. When students flip over their card, if the sum matches that of another player, you hit the mallet....very similar to the Whack-A-Mole game. You can click here to get it
Also don't forget to check out First Grade Fanatics to see what I gave them to use for their 14 Days of Summer Countdown.

What a great idea. Yesterday I had an inservice on Smartboards. As I was researching the activities on Smart Exchange their was a "Whack-A-Mole" Game. I believe under math for primary grades. Sorry that's all I can remember. I opened up a tons of activities.

what do you have them WHack? Do you bring in your old whack a mole game? or just have them use the mallet on the table??
ReplyDeleteIt would be just like the card game---I would have them "whack" the mallet card that's in the file. I've not played this with my students before, so I hope it goes over well. I do know that my son enjoys playing the Whack-A-Mole card game that's in the picture. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! The Wack-A-Mole card game is a favorite in my house!
ReplyDeleteWhack-a-Mole in any form is GREAT family fun lol-- :)
