Versatile Blogger---and a little something.

First of all, I want to thank Ashley at Flying High in First Grade for the Versatile Blogger Award.  I was given this just a couple days ago.  You can click here for that information and to see who my nominations were.  I would like to add Ashley's blog to the list.  She seems so sweet!!  So check out her blog at Flying High in First Grade, and give her some love!  It's tough to start out blogging (and if you're anything like me, it's even harder when you have NO CLUE what you are doing).

With that said, it's kind of a nice relaxing evening.  Supper over, mess cleaned up, house is tidy, animals have been taken care of (I mean the four-legged ones, though the two-legged ones are taken care of as well).  My husband took our daughter to 4-H and I'm sitting here on the couch as my son plays Kirby's Return to Dreamland.  He has this thing with wanting people watch him play....not watching the video game, but watching him.  I don't get it, but whatever lol.  So here I sit.  One eye on the screen, one eye on him...sort of.  If there are any mistakes in this post, overlook them...because honestly, every 30 seconds I hear Mommy, Mommy (and something pertaining to the game).  Okay, so maybe it's not so relaxing.  It's been one of those days.  One of those days where I wish I could change my name.....something other than Mrs. Davis, or Mommy.  I LOVE being a mommy and I LOVE being a teacher.....but sometimes I think you should just crawl back under the covers and not come out!!  This is one of those days.  (WHERE ARE MY SNOW DAYS??? How do you people that don't get snow handle a full week? lol)

Well anyhoo---my class is working on Long I/silent e this week.  I made a few worksheets/homework, and some task cards. If you want them, click on the image.  Each picture will take you to a different Long I worksheet.  Hopefully someone else can use them too.  My firsties kinda like the shape boxes, and of course they love playing Scoot with the Task Cards.

Here is a long I/short I sort sheet.

Here are the shape boxes. (The picture shows the mistake I made, but the file is the corrected one.  I made a tall box for the s in slide and the r in bride by accident.  Sorry y'all)

Here are the Task Cards for Scoot.

Have a FABULOUS evening....I'm off to "watch" :)

  3. My son wants me to watch him play Kirby too! Weird. He'll also talk about them like they are real. I'll be like, well I really don't understand. But he keeps right on talking.

  4. So I know this is WAY over due, but I just wanted to thank you for adding me to your blog reel! I sure wish we could 'tag" each other like we do on facebook! It would be so much easier to know when someone posts something about you! Thanks again and good luck as you begin back to school!
