Whatta Day--Cooking, Cleaning, Blogging, OH MY!

I feel like I got quite a bit accomplished today. Our county was on a Level 2 due to ice.  So what better way to spend the day, but in your jammies? :)  The house got cleaned, supper went in the crockpot, cupcakes got baked, and I made things for the classroom too.

First, let me share with you a few recipes if you don't mind. I'm sure many of you have heard of Crockin' Girls, but if not, check them out.  I LOVE crockpot recipes, and it's nice to have supper already ready when you come home from work too.  Chicken Parmesan is what's in the crock tonight, but I REALLY like the 3-crock buffet so I can add a side and a dessert.....sooo......we added this apple cobbler (plus a little vanilla and a little more sugar).  Hopefully it all turns out great.  It smells wonderful.  The cool thing though is I found a bread recipe to throw into that third crock.  Look! Click the picture to hop to the website.

And one more recipe....Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcakes.  OH MY HEAVENS!!!  They are really moist, delicious and super easy to make.  I do love my cupcake recipes, but to find one that is quick and easy makes it even better!!! This is my itty bitty one, but if you want to see the real recipe, click HERE.

Okay, now how about some school stuff?  Last week a Kindergarten friend was mentioning how she enjoyed watching a class play Scoot.  I had previously made beginning sound task cards for another Kindergarten friend, so I made a few things for her to use as well.  The first is a set of counting task cards.
I also made her a Tic-Tac-Toe board for sight words.  Students can use word wall words to write into the spaces (practicing their handwriting as well).  You can click the picture below for that.

Now my class will be working on 3 letter s blends this week.  Below you will find pictures of a sort, shape boxes/scramble, and task cards. You can click each picture to grab the set you want.

We will also be reviewing and working on contractions.  Here's a penguin sort and recording sheet for a workstation or independent activity.

Now, if you took the time to read all this and go through all this...THANK YOU! I know it was a lot.  If you haven't hit that little blue button that says join me yet, give it a go! :)  I'm nearing 300!!  Would love to see that number by the end of January!

If ya wanna leave a comment and fill my bucket, I won't complain! :)

  12. I love your scoot cards! Is it possible that you make them sets of 24? If not, I'll try to make more. I am SUPER DUPER thankful for your freebies! Especially since I'm a first year teacher :D

  13. Thanks for sharing all your great ideas...sure makes teaching my first grader easier and funnier than all her boring workbooks.

Can't wait to find the time to do look at the crock pot meals...I do need to do more of that type of cooking because I teach preschool out of my home, and homeschool my first grader. My plate is FULL and by dinner time I am EMPTY. Thanks!

    Keep the ideas coming!
