On the bright side, I told them----"Shhh...if you're really quiet it won't be as hot!" :) YEAH, it worked---they were a little calmer today. Here's to hoping they keep it up and it wasn't just heat and exhaustion from their 4 day weekend!
SOOO...you know yesterday how I vented about not having my little math booklets and such? I'm still using the Envisions Math. I do enjoy the videos that go along with the lessons...and we still get to use them. But, lookie what I made.
Yep, practice work/games that resemble the Envisions booklet. I tried to create my own practice sheets with resources I had previously made, and I added a few worksheets to go along with it. Yeah, it's not cutesy and colorful---but it will work!! (You can click the picture to grab you some work---even though it's geared towards Envisions---it's just number order and sequence work, so anyone could use it!) ;)
And I'm going to throw this out there again....if you haven't had a chance to check out my Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy Math Activities...you must!! They are, in my opinion, one of my best products I've made.
So, do you think that MY Envision Math Practice will work? Let me know what ya think.
AMAZING!!!

Thanks a bunch! I think this will be perfect!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason it won't let me sign in to my google account so I'm anonymous for today I guess! :)
ReplyDeleteI am sooo with you on the heat thing! I washed my hands a zillion times yesterday even a moment after washing without touching anything else....until I realized the pads of my fingers were sweating. My room was 95 degrees. For real. Poor kids. Poor me.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely use your line about it not being as hot if you are quiet. (and your body is still)

DeAnne,
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of humor. It brings back memories of my teaching days in southern Virginia where many of the schools didn't have air conditioning. I have no idea how we survived as it was 90 degrees plus til October. Love your math packet!!!

I ALSO use the "If you're really quiet it won't be as hot" all the time!! Hehehe! I live in Montreal (Canada) and almost NO schools have AC here. June is brutal!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your math pack! It looks great :)

It has been super hot here too! It was 86 in my classroom, but with the humidity it felt like 100 degrees! Obviously we have no AC either in our classrooms, but our office and administrative offices do! We use the Envision CCSS version, but I love your math worksheets. The ones that come with the series don't really have very much actual "practice" on them. I would love it if you were inspired to make more for us!! Thank you so much for the freebies! Hang in there and remember that there are so many more of us attempting to teach in the same unbearable environment. First Grade is Wonderful
ReplyDeleteIt has been warm and humid here too. I think we escape it for a little while before it starts to warm up again. I am ready for much cooler days. How horrible to not be able to open any windows for some fresh air. This math packet is fantabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove these worksheets!! Thank you!!!
