Turkey Day Fun

Have you read this book?

It is so funny.  My kids love the pictures, and the story.  I thought it would be fun to do a compare and contrast with it and A Turkey for Thanksgiving (also a favorite of mine).

This book is so cute.  It's a great book for kids to make predictions with too.  I like to read both stories, starting with The Great Turkey Race.   Then when I read A Turkey for Thanksgiving we stop when the turkey enters the Moose's home, and my kids make a prediction of what will happen to Turkey.

We share our predictions with each other, and then I finish the story.  They love the ending! :)

I love these two stories so much that I thought I would try a little compare/contrast activity with them.
You can use the above for a whole group Venn diagram

Or, if you would like, there's a student version as well.
Then, silly me....I tried to do a crafty thing again.  My daughter and I put this one together.  He's kinda cute.  It's Wing from The Great Turkey Race.  I am far from being a crafty person, but when I showed it to my kiddos they wanted to make it right away.  Now I have something to bribe them with! :)  YAY!
If you liked any of the things above, please click on the cute Pilgrim Turkey and grab yourself your ******FREE***** Turkey Day fun from Google Docs! :)  My little way of saying Thank you for being so awesome at what you do!!  If you wanted to throw a little love my way in the comments section below, I won't complain! :)

If you haven't had a chance to check out my Thanksgiving Pack, you're missing out.  The graphics in this set are soooooo cute!!!  My kids have been loving their centers the past two weeks.

You can click HERE to see it on TpT.

I also made pilgrim activities last year to go with Sarah Morton and Samuel Eaton.

And, just in case you missed it before----how about a math fact freebie?  :)
